About Us
Armor of Light is a fellowship of Christian believers that gather to worship, study His Word, pray, and serve the community around us. As an outgrowth ministry of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, since our inception in 2005, Armor of Light's primary focus of service has always been to military members and their families. In unity we join with other churches and like-minded Christians to extend God's love by supporting Christian services & outreaches, family events, Christ centered marriage enrichment retreats as well as military functions and simple goodwill activities within the Military Community.
What We Believe |
We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error in the original manuscripts. We believe that the promises in the Old Testament of a Savior have been fulfilled with the incarnation of Jesus Christ and that we are no longer bound by the law, but under the new covenant are covered by the grace of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the person of Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, and His immaculate conception, virgin birth, sinless life, and was willingly crucified to atone for all of humanity's sins, was bodily resurrected, ascended into heaven, and physically returned to earth. We believe that all men have sinned and without atonement, are eternally condemned. We believe that God eternally saves man when he repents of his sins and accepts the sacrifice Christ made to atone for those sins. We believe as the scripture proclaims that Jesus is the only way in which God provides forgiveness and eternal salvation to man. We believe the Holy Scriptures are the final arbiter of all moral issues concerning man and that the whole counsel of God's word is to be taken literal and in content. |
Our Heritage |
Like all spirit filled, bible believing congregations, Armor of Light Chapel's heritage was founded in the 1st century church with Jesus Christ and the apostles, continued thru the 3rd century, into the dark ages, revived during the reformation of the 16th century, and was passed to each successive generation and into our current age. More specifically, Armor of Light Chapel is an outgrowth of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, which like the 1st century church, has a deep tradition of fulfilling the great commission of sharing the Gospel.
